Victor J. Dominelli, AIA, NCARB

FORENSIC ARCHITECTURE EXPERIENCE

Mr. Dominelli’s forensic experience in support of construction defect litigation covers

thousands of residential and commercial properties in the states of California, Arizona,

Nevada, Colorado & Texas. His project investigations performed as an architectural

expert have been on behalf of both plaintiff and defense clientele. He has directed a

diverse and broad range of forensic investigations, primarily for large, nationally

oriented development organizations. He has crafted a particular expertise in facilitating

case resolutions through mediation, most notably in large-scale high-rise condominium

construction. Deposition testimony has been provided. Mr. Dominelli’s skills and

interests also include marketing and promoting business development both locally and

regionally.

Having now joined Core Construction Group Inc., Mr. Dominelli looks to build on his

forensic experience and successful track record, while enhancing and further cultivating

the service offerings of the firm as a whole.

Conducted and managed forensic investigations on behalf of both plaintiff and developer

entities, including all aspects of visual investigation and intrusive testing, coordination of

expert consultants, technical research, document review, analysis and allocation of trade

responsibility, preparation of repair recommendation reports and participation in mediations

as required. Duties also included managing the firm’s marketing of professional services.

2003- 2013

Responsible for all phases of forensic architectural services on behalf of developer entities

within a 13 to 22-person firm, including site investigations, coordination of consultants,

technical research, document and contract review, analysis of conditions, allocation of trade

responsibility, preparation of repair recommendations, participation in expert meetings and

mediations and deposition testimony.

Performed forensic investigations, provided analysis of defective conditions, developed repair

recommendations and prepared reports of findings on behalf of both plaintiff and developer

entities of single-family and multi-family residential developments.

1994-1995

Project Architect – City Design, San Diego, California

Provided services for a specific adaptive reuse project in San Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood.

This project provided for the conversion of an early 20th century telephone cable facility into

residential live/work studios and loft spaces.
